Jeff and Jonathan take a break from “The Film Fix.” Jonathan to slow down DFF.

After years of writing about movies, and almost two years and some 200 segments of the “The Film Fix,” things are beginning to slow down. Jeff Marker, who teaches college at Gainesville State College, has taken on greater responsibilities as colleges and universities are consolidated within the state system. Jonathan Hickman, the chief public defender of the State Court in Coweta County, Georgia, intends to focus on writing a sequel to his 2008 novel “The Taster.” Hickman and Marker are both involved in several independent film productions and will continue pursuing interesting projects they feel passionate about.

Jeff’s reviews will continue to appear in print and online in the Gainesville Times newspaper (http://www.gainesvilletimes.com/section/108/article/62680/). Jonathan will continue to write his monthly movie survey piece for the widely distributed south metro Atlanta paper 85 South Out & About. In addition, Hickman can be heard monthly on Clear Channel 720 “The Voice” as part of the 85 South radio show. The Film Fix television show will be converted to a trailer show on local cable in the Coweta County, Georgia, area. The show, available on Charter channel 19 and NuLink channel 10, will bring you the latest film trailers and featurettes.

Jonathan will also continue assisting filmmakers in their legal needs. Drop Jonathan an email ([email protected]) to help out with your next production.

Although Jonathan intends to write the occasional film review for the DFF website, updates will likely be monthly and pick up with the summer movie season as well as the end of the year awards honors. Thanks again for your support of DFF and the television show. We hope to join you again in the future as our busy schedules permit.
