\"\"<\/a>The Atlanta release of the Jodie Foster\/Mel Gibson drama has been moved up to this weekend starting on Friday the 13th of May at AMC Phipps Plaza 14 and Landmark Midtown Art Cinema 8. It is unclear if the change in the planned expansion of the film into other markets has anything to do with the underperformance of \u201cThe Beaver\u201d last weekend in limited release, but it will mean that this critic will not get a chance to see the film at an advanced screening.<\/p>\n

With all the negative energy surrounding Gibson in the last few years, many people I\u2019ve spoken with have no desire to see the movie. Of course, the subject matter, that has Gibson playing a toy executive who talks through a stuffed animal resembling a beaver, doesn\u2019t make it exactly boffo box office fodder either.
