The new rules of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts makes it possible for the best picture category to be composed of five to ten nominees.  And that\u2019s a good thing, because Hollywood failed to deliver one really significant mainstream film in 2011.  Even the total domestic box office was down with attendance hitting a reported 16-year low.  Audiences and critics were less than thrilled in 2011.
