Fresh from its successful 3-D run that only added to the record-breaking box office prowess of this James Cameron juggernaut, the 11 time Oscar-winner is given beefy treatment with this Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy package.

Boasting some 2 1/2 hours of new bonus content, diehard fans will have to get their hands on this new “Titanic” offering. Prepare yourself to be frustrated once more as Jack Dawson clings to life on the edge of that door that Rose precariously perches herself upon. Spoiler alert: I was with a lot of folks who couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t have climbed on top of that door along with Rose.

Watching the iconic film once again, this time in high-definition Blu-ray, I was surprised how entertaining it was even though I had seen it several times in the past. Describing the production as sumptuous would certainly be an understatement. Readers of the Fix know that I am an unapologetic fan of Cameron’s work having chosen his “Avatar” as that year’s best film. Therefore, it will come as no surprise that I loved “Titanic” back in 1997 and can count myself as a proud owner of this new package. It helps that there is a digital version included which removes the need for folks to rip the DVD into their mobile and computer collection. Although the copy that I have says on the box that you can watch it anywhere anytime and that the digital copy is compatible with iTunes, I could not determine whether there is an Ultraviolet version out there.

The Blu-ray special features include 30 deleted scenes and 60 behind-the-scenes featurettes. It is enough to give a “Titanic” fan a weekend full of viewing pleasure. But just being able to see the movie in beautiful high definition as only Blu-ray can deliver was more than enough for me. And as Cameron readies not one but two “Avatar” sequels as well as his long gestating “Battle Angel” project, this release will go a long way toward tiding over rabid fans for another year.

[1

post-2605","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-blog","no-thumb
["GET
