The movie, staring Chris Evans, is directed by Joe Johnston (JUMANJI, THE WOLFMAN).  Set for a release on July 22, 2011, CAPTAIN AMERICA is an adaptation of the long running Marvel comic.  The story in the movie reportedly covers Cap&#8217;s origin as his alter ego Steve Rogers goes from sickly to super after volunteering to take an experimental serum.  <\/p>\n<p>The Captain America character is unabashedly patriotic exposing American ideals (even typifying what has been often debated as &#8220;American Exceptional-ism&#8221;).  One wonders how this will be handled by Hollywood seeking to attract not only a large US domestic audience but an equally sizable international one as well.  Remember how the last Superman reboot was altered to play more broadly.
