Daily Dose: Bring Tarantino’s DJANGO UNCHAINED to Georgia!

The Hollywood Reporter has just reported that Will Smith is being courted to star in Quentin Tarantino’s next—the spaghetti western “Django Unchained.” The film is set in the Old South and centers on a slave (possibly Smith) being trained by a German bounty hunter (possibly Christoph Waltz) to search for the slave’s wife.

While I’m very excited about announcement that Smith may star, the early word is that the film may be shot in Louisiana. I’d naturally like to see it come to Georgia to the home of all things “Gone With The Wind.” And I’m spearheading a Facebook campaign to encourage Quentin and his producers to bring the production here.

Here’s the Facebook page I set up for the effort. Please join in the push. My home state’s tax incentives are very favorable, and in my hometown of Newnan we just played host to a number of big movies including John Hillcoat’s “The Wettest County in the World.”
