Daily Dose: New DRAGON TATTOO trailer!

With the release of the second trailer, the remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” looks terrific. The 2009 Swedish original was the best of the three films based on the late Stieg Larsson’s best-selling books and the U.S. take on the material is hotly anticipated.

What is concerning about the marketing for the new film, directed by David Fincher and adapted by Steven Zaillian, is that the two trailers are so very good and include so much of the story. Sure, fans, and there are millions, know it all already, but the trailers cover a lot of ground and more than whet viewer appetite leading into the December 21st release. But I’m concerned that trailers this good raise a high bar and may give a little too much away, regardless whether you’ve read the books or seen the Swedish originals.

One problem that Jeff and I have spoken about on our television show, The Film Fix, is that some trailers are spoiling all the good parts of a movie. And with the Internet, the trailers can be watched over and over again. Let’s hope that Fincher’s “Girl” still manages to surprise us. The new trailer can be viewed over on IMDB by clicking HERE.
