A comedy about cancer ended up being one of the most sincere films I saw all year. Based on true life events, “50/50” matches everyboy actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt with funnyman Seth Rogen as they battle cancer together. Well only Gordon-Levitt’s character comes down with the disease, but Rogen plays his crude friend who is seriously affected by the ordeal. Some have criticized the movie for its portrayal of women, but “50/50” is a movie about a guy and his bud dealing with heavy stuff. Girls factor in but a bromance is at the film’s core.
