There’s nothing new about big time Super Bowl commercial promotions, but the makers of the upcoming movie “Rio” may have pulled a first. The 30-second spot for the film airing this Sunday during the big game will contain an embedded code.
Viewers are invited to find the frame with the embedded code in the “Rio” commercial that will direct them to a special level in the Angry Birds mobile device video game. The producers of the film and video game maker Rovio have entered into what has been billed as a first-of-its kind partnership. And, of course, the ultimate prize, a trip to the premiere of “Rio” in Rio de Janeiro, is handled by way of a sweepstakes.
